Speed Trap

Run for the line in a fast car with the police behind you (watch the mirror), or take the cruiser and stay on the racer's tail until the meter fills, a roadblock and two spike strips to call ahead. The A1A at sunset or the Caddebostan road at dusk, against the computer at three levels or a friend on a link.

How to play

As the racer, reach the line (the county line on the A1A, Bostancı on the Caddebostan road) before the police stop you. As the cop, stop the racer first.

Driving

↑ is the gas, ↓ the brake, ← → steer; on a touch screen, the buttons under the road. A bend pushes you out, so steer into it or come off the gas; the grass slows you and the traffic knocks you back.

Gears

Auto shifts for you. Manual is yours on the shifter under the settings: A down, S up, or tap a gear. Too high a gear for the speed pulls weakly; at a gear’s top the engine has nothing more. In Auto, hold the brake at a standstill to back up; in Manual, R and the gas.

The meter

The cop close behind (or alongside) fills it, faster when the racer is slow or they touch; a gap empties it again. Full, and the racer is stopped (Busted for the racer, Stop for the cop).

The cop's calls

The cop has a roadblock (B) and two spike strips (N) to call ahead of the racer. A roadblock closes two lanes: take the open one or hit it. A spike strip takes one lane: over it, and the tyres are flat for a few seconds. Racing the computer, the radio tells you a call is coming.

Levels

From Easy to Hard the computer drives faster, closes in harder and sees more calls coming in time; as the cop it calls more.

With a friend

Pick A friend in Opponent and send the link (Copy link). The one who made the game picks the road and the role; the friend drives the other car, each on the same traffic. Either of you can start, pause and play again; Leave the game ends it for both of you.

Controls

↑ ↓ ← → drive, A and S shift in Manual, B and N call (the cop). P or Esc pauses, R starts the run again, Enter plays. The speaker turns the sound on or off.

Your settings, your paint, your best runs and the counts are kept in this browser; a race in play isn’t, so a refresh starts it again. A race with a friend goes through a small server that passes each car’s place and the cop’s calls to the other, keeping none of it; it forgets the room a day after the last race, or as soon as one of you leaves.
