Okey

Build runs and sets on your rack and be the first to finish. Play three computer players, or send friends a link; the computer takes any seat nobody has.

How to play

Be the first to finish a round, with the fourteen tiles on your rack all in runs and sets, or in seven pairs. Each finish costs the other players points; the game ends when someone reaches 0, and whoever has the most points left wins.

The tiles

There are 106 tiles: 1 to 13 in four colours (red, yellow, blue and black), two of each, and two false jokers. One tile is turned up in the middle, and it shows the okey: the next number in its colour (a 13 shows the 1). Both okeys stand for any tile, and the two false jokers stand for the okey itself.

Your turn

The player on the dealer’s right gets 15 tiles and starts by discarding; the others get 14, and the rest is the pile. Play goes to the right. On your turn, draw a tile (from the pile, or the one the player on your left just discarded), then discard one to your corner for the player on your right. Once the pile runs out, the next discard ends the round with no winner.

Runs and sets

A run is three or more tiles of one colour in a row; a 1 may follow the 13 (12-13-1), but nothing comes after that 1. A set is one number in three or four different colours. A pair is two of the same tile, the same number in the same colour. An okey can stand in for any tile in any of them.

Finishing

Finish when you hold fifteen tiles and, with one of them discarded, the fourteen left are all runs and sets, or seven pairs. Each other player then loses points, as Points shows. Everyone starts with the points under Start with, 20 or 10; the game ends when someone reaches 0, and the most points left wins.

Controls

Drag tiles to arrange your rack, or let Sort by runs or Sort by pairs lay it out. Tap the pile, or the tile in the corner on your left, to draw. Drag a tile to your corner to discard it, or tap it, then Discard. When your hand is done, Finish lights up: tap it (it discards the tile you tapped if that one finishes, else the best), or drag that tile to the middle.

A game against the computer is kept in this browser and comes back paused; your rack keeps the order you gave it, in a friends’ game too. A friends’ game goes through a small server that shuffles, deals and plays the empty seats, and sends each player only their own tiles; it forgets the game a day after the last move.
