Position Size Calculator

How many shares, contracts or lots to take, bought at once or in parts, so a trade that hits its stop costs exactly what you chose to risk.

The size comes from your risk and your stop: the units it takes for the stop to cost what you risk, fees in. This is fixed fractional sizing, the standard.
Bought in parts, it’s sized so that every part filled and then stopped costs your risk; with fewer parts filled, less.
Shares, contracts and lots are rounded down (lots to 0.01, coins to 0.0001), so a stop never costs more than you chose.
R is what you risk: a trade that makes 2 R makes twice that.
Expectancy is what a trade like it makes on average at your win rate, if a winner reaches every target and a loser its stop.
The arithmetic of a plan, never advice or a prediction.
