    How to play

Get three of your marks in a row, across, down or corner to corner, before the other side does.

    Playing

X always goes first, then O, one square each in turn. Three in a row wins the round; a full board with no row is a draw. Played well by both sides, every round is a draw.

    The computer

Computer sets how well it plays (Medium to start). Easy takes a win when it sees one and otherwise plays anywhere; Medium plays well but misses now and then; Hard never loses. You play is X, O or Swap (to start), which swaps who plays X, and so who goes first, every round. Both are for the next round while one is on.

    With a friend

Send a friend the link (Copy link) and play from two browsers. Who plays X is drawn at random for the first round, and you swap every round after. The score counts both sides’ wins and the draws.

    Controls

Tap a square to play it. Next round, Enter or Space starts the next one once a round is over.

A game against the computer is kept in this browser with the score. A friend’s game goes through a small server that checks every move, and forgets the game a day after the last move.
